TALLER ABIERTO [procesos composicionales]
"La Música Antes de la Música: Hacia un Nuevo Onticismo Musical"
"La Música Antes de la Música: Hacia un Nuevo Onticismo Musical"
The compositional process with Diego Villaseñor echoic.space/ started in 2018. The point of departure began based on a philosophical conception Diego´s been pursuing and developing which found a fertile environment to be cultivated through TALLER ABIERTO [procesos composicionales] crystalizing into what it became to be the work composition HÁBITAT. The project had many creative swirls until the time of its performance premiere in 2022, in Mexico City.
In the words of Diego "HÁBITAT is a collaborative space for the development of an open and shareable musical-eidetic universe inspired on the study and operation of the relationships found in natural processes. The aim is to develop musics that coevolve, relate, compose and cooperate with each other in the same way as the different elements of nature do amongst themselves (from the subatomic to the cosmic scales). As a methodology it takes the structures and elements of natural phenomena to produce instances (or species) of their phenomenological expressions in sound. Afterwards these sound-species can be understood as belonging to the evolutionary time of the Habitat, and thus are subject to the same processes inherent to the phenomena that produced them: recursivity and fractality, evolution via self-differentiation and adaptation, changes in scale and perspective, and all sorts of compositions, recompositions and decompositions of their matters. As such Habitat is a means of attending and relating to nature as process and as a complex web of relationships, and a way of understanding and experimenting music, ideas and other so called “human” activities and characteristics as integrated to the ecosystem and as part of the same flows of energy and matter as the rest of the environment".
