Formed in Mexico City during covid19 pandemic, this percussive electroacustic project brings new identity to experimental rhythm oriented music. With one album under its wings and two more coming out, the ensemble music navigates towards a different musical idiosyncrasy range from open structured improvised polyrhythmic environments to a more ambient fiction like hypnotic states.
The duo explores a critical humorous lyricism created and performed by Aaron With, which he describes as refrains – jargon mantras of the technocratic elite; at times as chants and at others as spoken word like mysterious incantations and troubled visualizations.

Pidgins' sonic palate is wide. Tamez flows between minimal percussion to extended drum set. With's electronics mix just harmonies with foley and field recordings. The organic instrumental qualities of African drums mixed with American drum-set, contrast against With's synthetic vocal characters—conceived of as tech-augmented transhuman figures nostalgically pining for an imagined natural past.
