A naturalistic piece for self-reflection on Human Specie

A naturalistic piece for self-reflection on Human Specie
and Nature species on Earth
Born from an environmentalist paradox, these work reflects on a naturalistic impulse that pray for preservation within change, questioning the deterioration and devastation of natural reservoirs negatively affecting the basic elemental conditions for Human and others species Life. The piece poetic´s evokes an inquiring into the dynamic cycle within birth and death as a continuum cadence in the Earth´s species evolution.
The architecture of the work originates from a naturalistic metaphore as a motivation raised within the experienced living natural field; firstly as a real experience in the Huitepec Reservoir in Los Altos de Chiapas, then transduced the overlapping layers of audiovisual materials collected and recomposed through new arrangements of micro and macro webs of events creating the structures for the XII Cadencias. The percussive performance of the cadenzas is built on passages –improvised and composed– consisting in parametric projective structures offering a fertile terrain for the treatment of unpredictable percussive situations; spontaneous momente preceding always a singular intention:

This is a special work composed in 7 movements for extended drum set percussion and electronics; inspired by "The Demons Haunted World" by Carl Sagan and "Solaris" by Stanislaw Lem. The piece is about the eternal human questions ¿Who are we? ¿Why are we here? ¿ What is reality? ¿What is Time? ¿What is God? ¿Where we came from and where are we going after life?
I conceived the piece as a percussive projection –an observing eye (I as an extraterrestrial entity)–of fictions about humanity and "their/ours" World while here on Earth. A vibrational fiction concerning how we´re seen and heard from Cosmos.
The instrumentation is an rhythmic integration of cosmovisions and time sense and spatial consciousness of Spirit. The orchestration is an agglomeration of multicultural identities contrasting human kind Eras overlapping Planetary Eras; understanding forms and attitudes towards Nature.
The global structure of the composition is built from the poetic cinematic images as in a dream. These images are the frontiers within the percussive order and organization of sound materials, and its rhythmic choreography within the inner architecture of eahc of the 7 movements of the piece.
