The music before the music. New Musical Onticism
TALLER ABIERTO Procesos Composicionales® was founded in 2017 in Mexico City, and as an extension-expansion of my profesional individual practice. It is a music performance research devised as a field of experimentation through improvisation in search of unfolding the musical being. The pedagogic model poses a practice within aural entities and language that actively manifests in improvisatory nature. The work elaborates as an open ended compositional process where the traditional convention of education system found between ¨student/professor¨ relationship expands and extends into the territory of open ended co-creatorship and collaboration; being the teacher a leading facilitator and the student a participant/performer. One of the main concerns of research is body-mind as language-thought within the self inquiry and study of the multiple perspectives around sensory aural-musical performance research.
TALLER ABIERTO evolves as a unique environment for experimental experience exploration of perception and sensory cognition. The TALLER thrives within a class research-rehearsal often leading towards the creation and performance of complete new works. It is an introspective journey on oneself consciousness, self body-mind awareness and a deep thinking creative exercise of instrumental play. It is a holistic transdisciplinary creative environment integrating mindfulness, philosophy, science and history, spirituality, mathematics, esoteric experiences, mysticism, anthropology, language, academics, randomness and critical thinking; as sources of reinvention, change and transformation.
While the program originates from the basis of my own professional creative practice and in behalf the request form some professional students/artists in Mexico City as a musical atelier, it has been proved to be very effective and fulfilling along the work with an open field of individuals with a wide diversity of backgrounds and disciplines, both artists and non artists.
The program is designed and intended for a two year long period minimum; but also offers optional short workshops available lasting 2-4-6 months, specific under individual needs and searches.

Drumming Music Practice Program DMP®
State of the art methodologies for percusivists creatives and drumming futurists scouts. And old and new approach to ultimate musical practice.
Drumming Music Practice® is all about musically developing our drumming; far away from the standard and traditional ways of approaching the instrument and the conventional way of percussive thinking. The Program is devoted to individuals who already play and have a general understanding of drumming history, languages, vocabularies, musical forms and styles, improvisation and some notions of musical composition; but want to navigate and explore other perspectives of rhythm awareness, eukinetics, compositional processess, root-origin melo-rhythmic concepts, and historical continuity.
DMP® Program is conceived in 4-Paths of Practice.
1) Thematic Structure: Soloing Practice
2) Composing: the "Other" Drumming Music Practice
3) Randomness: Melo-Rhythm Practice
4) Deconstruction: Deconstructing Drumming History

TAMBORERO LAB ESTUDIOS WORKSHOP®
Founded in 2004, this workshop focuses on chamber music for drum-set percussion ensemble. Mainly inspired by Max Roach/Warren Smith M´Boom ensemble, the Pierre Favre Singing Drums ensemble, Milford Graves various works for drum ensemble. The repertoire of TAMBORERO LAB consist on most originals composed and orchestrated by me, with arrangements for duets, trios, quartets, up to octet ensemble configurations.
The main conception of TAMBORERO LAB is that of integrating three worlds of drumming: the root-origin drumming from Africa; the drumming languages and vocabularies of improvisation, accompaniment and orchestration development, as utilized in Modern and Contemporary Jazz drumming; the Western classical and contemporary percussion chamber music tradition.
The complete methodology has been published in 2022, on APIL-PUBS®.
