APIL-PUBS

Literature for the Growth of Percussive Thinking and Drumming Perspectives
Founded 2017 in Mexico City.  I started this publishing house as a continuation of my 2001 performance-research platform SchlagArt-Arte Percusivo Integral Libre (APIL 2001-2016). Most of the materials you find here belong to the different stages of my pedagogical and didactic approach in practice, teaching and performance, created and developed over three decades of studying, playing and researching.

The APIL-PUBS Library is becoming a vital component of my lifelong journey. Currently, four distinct and diverse method books have been published, designed for intermediate and advanced drumming skills.

❖ Stickings Oráculo: Tupletismos-Libro de las Permutaciones Rítmicas
❖ Batería Melódica: Hacia un Fraseo Poli-Métrico
❖  INTERACCIONES RÍTMICA DE COMPUESTOS GESTUALES
Entrenamiento Neuropsicomotor Baterístico
VISION
Drumming is humanity's primal voice, a living tradition that intertwines our past, present, and future. Our rhythms contribute to an evolving tapestry that shapes our identities and worldviews. To truly embody drumming, we must immerse ourselves in its patterns and histories—starting with established rhythms before innovating our own. Mastery requires dedicated practice, while expanding our wisdom involves exploring drumming's rich cultural literature. Ultimately, drumming is a lifelong journey of creative exploration, weaving personal visions into the collective human experience.
STATEMENT
Every artist has a duty to document their creative processes and practices. By integrating our methodologies and philosophies, we foster a shared understanding of our origins and aspirations. Our work is a fleeting moment in a continuum of traditions, and without preservation beyond performance, our existence and ideas risk being forgotten. It is essential to share our artistic journeys, as both spiritual and scientific pursuits have their research and expressive dimensions. Artists contribute to the historical continuum, enriching cultural knowledge. Without repositories of knowledge, our understanding of the present would be diminished.
